Logistics warehouse and offices - 31 antennas

A passive 2G/4G DAS in a logistics warehouse with an office building - 31 antennas across 6 coverage zones, about 909 m of coaxial cable and the 800/1800 MHz bands, fed from a single technical rack.

About the project

In a logistics warehouse with an office building, Claritech designed and installed a passive 2G/4G DAS for one of the leading mobile network operators: 31 indoor antennas, in 6 coverage zones across the storage hall and three office levels, fed from a single technical rack.

Project requirements

The scanning terminals and voice calls in the hall need a stable signal level between the high racking aisles, and the three office levels have coverage requirements of their own. The project required a passive network sized per zone, with the 800 and 1800 MHz bands combined on the same antenna network, and the levels verified at the acceptance of the works.

The solution

31 antennas in 6 zones

The storage hall and three office levels, divided into zones, each with its own antennas - all fed from a single technical room.

A balanced passive network

Around 909 m of coaxial cable: 465 m of 7/8” feeder in 12 runs (the longest at 70 m) and 444 m of 1/2” in 47 runs, balanced with -7/-10 dB tappers and 1:2 and 1:3 splitters.

Dual-band on a single network

The 800 and 1800 MHz bands (2G/4G), combined through a dual-band combiner onto the same antenna network.

A single technical rack

A 42U rack with the BBU, two radio units, ODF and -48 VDC power with 4 batteries, at an installed power of 3 kW.

Coverage zones6, across the storage hall and three office levels
Coaxial cable~909 m (465 m of 7/8” in 12 runs + 444 m of 1/2” in 47)
Passive distribution-7/-10 dB tappers and 1:2 / 1:3 splitters
Bands800 + 1800 MHz (2G/4G), dual-band combined
Technical rack42U: BBU, two radio units, ODF, -48 VDC with 4 batteries
Acceptance verificationLTE walk-test: RSRP -76 dBm, SINR 36 in the hall

The results

Coverage verified at acceptance. The walk-test measurements in the hall confirmed RSRP -76 dBm and SINR 36 for LTE, between the racking aisles.

A uniform level per zone. The passive network, balanced on tappers and splitters, brings every zone to the designed level.

A single technical room. The hall and the three office levels, served from the same 42U rack.

Why Claritech

For warehouses and logistics buildings, mobile coverage directly supports the operation - from scanning terminals to the teams’ telephony. Over 40,000 antennas installed, since 2007. See the DAS project portfolio →
