Appliance factory - 47 antennas, two radio sectors

A 2G/4G DAS system in an appliance factory - 47 antennas in two radio sectors, approximately 1,865 m of coaxial feeder and a secondary rack fed through optical fiber, with the operator's equipment on about 10 sqm.

About the project

For one of the leading mobile network operators, Claritech designed and installed in 2024 a 2G/4G (GSM/LTE) DAS in an appliance factory: 47 indoor antennas, split into two radio sectors, on the 800/900/1800/2100 MHz bands. Coverage spans the production halls, the high-bay storage areas and the offices, across two levels, on a single system.

Project requirements

The factory runs continuous production, and the installation works could not interrupt it. The large footprint required splitting into two radio sectors, each with its own capacity. The passive network routes used the halls’ existing cable trays, and roof-membrane penetration was not permitted for the rooftop equipment.

The solution

Two sectors, two racks

A main rack and a secondary rack fed through approximately 300 m of optical fiber, each with two radio units - each half of the factory has its own radio sector.

A passive network on the existing routes

Approximately 1,865 m of coaxial feeder - 1,395 m of 7/8” and 470 m of 1/2” - with 24 splitters and 21 tappers, installed on the existing cable trays without stopping production.

Minimal footprint

All of the operator’s equipment occupies about 10 sqm: two closed racks, with -48 VDC power and their own batteries.

Microwave transmission

The transmission network is implemented over a microwave radio link, mounted on the roof on a ballasted support, with no membrane penetration.

What we delivered

ComponentDetails
Indoor antennas47 (omnidirectional and panel)
Radio sectors2, on the 800/900/1800/2100 MHz bands (2G/4G)
Coaxial cable~1,865 m (1,395 m of 7/8” + 470 m of 1/2”)
Passive distribution24 splitters and 21 tappers (-7/-10 dB)
Optical fiber~300 m, between the main rack and the secondary rack
Racks2 closed, each with two radio units, -48 VDC and batteries
Coverageproduction halls, high-bay storage and offices

The results

Distributed capacity. Two radio sectors mean each half of the factory has its own capacity - one zone’s traffic does not slow down the other.

Work without stopping production. The passive network was installed on the existing routes, with the works coordinated with the factory’s activity.

Minimal footprint for the operator. About 10 sqm for all the equipment, in two closed racks.

One system for every space. From the production halls to the offices, the same antenna network, at the designed signal levels.

Why Claritech

For industrial facilities, we cover halls, warehouses and offices from a single system, without stopping production - over 40,000 antennas installed, since 2007. See the DAS project portfolio →
